Rod put 14 hours mentoring helping with cue cards and video production and wrote the reason he wished to be a mentor was:
To be able to help others, I had a lot of help from some great people to get to where I am. I still reach out to my friends/family. Everyone needs someone to reach out to if they want to stay sober. No one can make it alone. If I can help even one person to “make it” then being a mentor would be a success.”
Rod’s death was so sudden and unexpected that it caught us all by surprise. I caught myself wanting to text him for some reason. I feel like he is still around. I didn’t have much time to process his passing and I probably suffer a little denial that he’s gone. I can almost hear Rod say in his very dry humor: “no its senility”. I am really going to miss him!
